Service Description
What is the CMR course & who is it for? Contrary to some beliefs, self-compassion is not self-indulgence or a sign of weakness. It is in fact quite the opposite. It is the secret to resilience and the ability to learn from mistakes and become stronger in the face of 'failure'. Self-compassion involves treating yourself as you would a friend and being more mindful, and understanding of our own situation in the context of a larger human experience. When we can be more understanding and kinder to ourselves, identify less with the emotions that surround our mistakes, and understand that failure is a normal part of the larger human experience, we become more resilient and successful over time. It was designed to support those people who care for others, and so it works well for people who are time poor and want to learn tools that can fit into their busy schedule. The course is also relevant for anyone who is looking for tools and techniques to quieten their inner critic, reduce chattering and negative thoughts and support their overall wellbeing. There is now a growing body of evidence to support the fact that practising self-compassion, together with mindfulness, supports your wellbeing and helps you to help others. As a MindfulnessUK Trained Teacher of the Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) course, we emphasize mindfulness techniques to promote healing and personal growth. Discover a safe space to explore your thoughts and feelings with empathy and understanding. Begin your journey to a healthier mind today. What you will learn - How to build resilience through a blend of mindfulness and compassion in a creative way. - A basic understanding of the science behind mindfulness and compassion. - How to use shorter, more bespoke practices and coping strategies to promote higher levels of self-kindness, resilience and empowerment. - The essential principles of mindfulness and simple techniques to build your personal practice, so that mindfulness and self-compassion become part of your life well beyond the course. Learning and practising as a group fosters connection. This course is online. 2 hours per week on Thursdays 7pm-9pm over 4 weeks from 7th to the 28th August 2025 This course attracts 20 CPD Points
