Programme Description

 

The Professional Diploma in Clinical Supervision is an advanced professional development programme designed to prepare experienced practitioners for supervisory roles within counselling, psychotherapy, and allied health settings. The programme integrates contemporary supervision theory with applied practice, ethical frameworks, and reflective learning methodologies.

 

Participants will critically examine a range of supervision models, including developmental, integrative, systemic, and reflective approaches. Emphasis is placed on the supervisory relationship as a structured and ethically complex process, requiring high-level interpersonal competence, professional assessment , and reflective capacity.

 

The programme develops practical supervision competencies, including facilitating reflective dialogue, delivering constructive feedback, managing challenging supervisory dynamics, and supporting practitioner wellbeing. Ethical and legal considerations are embedded throughout, with a strong focus on professional standards, safeguarding, confidentiality, and risk management.

 

Learners engage in structured reflective practice, case analysis, and applied supervision exercises to consolidate learning. Assessment is designed to evaluate both theoretical understanding and applied supervisory competence.

 

Upon completion, graduates will demonstrate the capability to deliver structured, ethical, and effective clinical supervision aligned with professional and CPD standards.
