What to Expect in Your First Counselling Session

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure what to expect.

Your first session is usually focused on understanding your needs, goals, and background. The therapist may ask about current challenges, personal history, and what you hope to achieve. This is also your opportunity to ask questions and see if the therapist feels like the right fit for you.

Confidentiality, professionalism, and respect are central to the process.
