Online Certificate in Working with LGBTQI+ Youths January 2026

As practitioners, we must respond to the diverse needs of young people with understanding, inclusivity and confidence. The www.icps.ie presents a Professional Certificate in Working with LGBTQI+ Youths on 17th January 2026, live online, providing a focused, affirming learning space to deepen your competence.

The Course is provided over 1 day- 9:30am-5:30pm

Why This Training Matters

  • Culturally competent care is crucial: Research consistently shows that LGBTQI+ youth face higher risks for mental health difficulties, including depression and anxiety, mainly due to minority stress and stigma. Providing therapy rooted in awareness and affirmation significantly improves their well‑being.

  • Clear professional guidance: This workshop offers evidence‑informed frameworks for affirmative practice, helping clinicians to avoid assumptions, build empathy, and recognise systemic challenges facing LGBTQI+ young people.

  • Accessible and timely format: Delivered live online, it fits within busy schedules and ensures professional support is just a screen away.
