Eating disorders are complex presentations with significant psychological, physical, and relational dimensions. The Professional Diploma in Eating Disorders, Body Image and Emotional Regulation at ICPS College equips practitioners with specialist knowledge and clinical skills to work sensitively with clients experiencing disordered eating and body image difficulties.
This programme recognises that eating disorders sit at the intersection of emotional regulation, identity, trauma, and interpersonal experience. Effective therapeutic work in this area requires an integrative, trauma-informed, and body-aware approach.
Programme Overview
The ten-module programme covers the psychology and aetiology of eating disorders, diagnostic categories (anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID), the role of emotion regulation, body image and identity, trauma and eating disorders, working with families, nutritional psychology, risk assessment, and ethical practice in this specialist area. Sixty CPD credits are awarded on completion.
